I took the Chair of the Association in January 2006. As you all know, one of the objectives of the Association is to provide a platform for members on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) so that members could be better equipped to face the challenges of the Industry. To this end, the Association has arranged seminars and site visits in year 2006 and 2007, well known speakers/safety practitioners were invited to present talks on various topics. The seminars and site visits were well received. In addition, the Association has team up with other Institutions/Associations in co-organizing Safety Conference, two of which shall be held in year 2008. The Association aims at arranging more seminars and site visits for members in the coming future.

Another objective of the Association is to provide support to local Institutions/Universities by way of presenting Awards or offering scholarships to students major in safety. The Association has presented Best Student Award to graduates of Safety Officer Course of Construction Industry Training Authority (CITA) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in year 2006 and 2007. This initiative has been taken for a number of years and will continue. 

Hong Kong Industrial Safety Association (HKISA) has been established for more than 20 years. I must emphasize that the Association belongs to all of you. Your continual support is important and vital to foster the healthy development of the Association. I therefore would like to take this opportunity to encourage all of you to actively participate into the function organized by the Association; your views on the Association are most welcome. In addition, I would like to call upon you to pay the annual fee on time so that the Association could be financially healthy and fit enough to face challenges ahead and to accomplish the planned future tasks.
